About Maureen Manning and Christine Smith

Maureen Raiche Manning
Undergraduate Degree: University of New Hampshire 1983
Law Degree: Franklin Pierce Law Center 1986
Areas of Practice: Medical malpractice, wrongful death, personal injury, social security disability and workers’ compensation.
Maureen served for six years in the New Hampshire House of Representatives as a member of the Judiciary Committee. She is admitted to practice in New Hampshire federal and state courts, and is a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association , member of the Workers’ Compensation and Labor and Employment Section, Manchester Bar Association, American Association for Justice, the New Hampshire Trial Lawyers Association and the New Hampshire Women’s Bar Association. Maureen is currently on the Board of Governors of the New Hampshire Trial Lawyers Association.
Maureen served on the New Hampshire Human Rights Commission as a Commissioner from 1997-2004. She also served on the Governors Board of the New Hampshire Bar Association from 1999-2002. She served on the Board of the New Hampshire Bar Foundation, has chaired its Legal History Committee, and is a charter member of the Foundation’s Justice Society. Maureen is also a founding member of the Hillsborough County Women’s Bar Association and the New Hampshire Women’s Bar Association, having been elected as their first President. She also served as Chair of the New Hampshire Women’s Lobby from 1989 to 1991 and as Chair of the 1990 Democratic State Convention. She served as Vice Chair of the New Hampshire Democratic Party from 1991 to 1993 and attended the 1992 Democratic National Convention as a delegate.
Maureen, a life resident of Manchester, lives with her husband Donald Manning and their three sons.

Christine McCarthy Smith

Christine McCarthy Smith is a native of Boston, Massachusetts and has been a resident of Manchester New Hampshire for the past 22 years. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Boston State College in 1977. Christine went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Nursing in 1980, from the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
Christine has over 25 years of nursing experience which includes obstetrics, pediatrics, home care and rehabilitation nursing. She has taught nursing at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, the University of New Hampshire, Durham, New Hampshire, St. Anselm College, Manchester, New Hampshire, as well as Catholic Medical Center and Elliot Hospital.
She received her Juris Doctorate Degree from the Massachusetts School of Law in 2000, and was admitted to both the Massachusetts and New Hampshire Bar that year. She is admitted to practice in federal and state courts of Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Christine is a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association, New Hampshire Women’s Bar Association, Massachusetts Bar Association and the American Association for Justice.
Prior to founding her own law firm, she practiced at the law firm of Nixon, Raiche, Manning, Casinghino & Leach of Manchester, New Hampshire, practicing Medical Negligence Law and prior to practicing in New Hampshire, Christine was a nurse attorney at the law firm of Crowe & Mulvey in Boston, Massachusetts, where she practiced in medical negligence law.
Christine continues to practice in the field of medical negligence law, personal injury, and social security disability in both New Hampshire and Massachusetts. In Massachusetts she also represents parents and children in care and protection cases through the Committee for Public Counsel Services.
