John J. Quinn is a co-managing partner of Furniss & Quinn, P.C. and has so served since the founding of the firm.  He  practices in many areas of the law, including personal injury, workers' compensation, real estate,  estate planning, negligence, family, criminal, probate and small business law. Attorney Quinn participates in many pre-paid legal plans, and has been a  Board Certified Workers' Compensation Specialist since the inception of the certification program in 2001.  This designation requires the completion of continuing legal education in the field of workers' compensation and also requires that at least twenty-five percent of the attorney's practice be dedicated to workers' compensation law.

Attorney Quinn has served the community throughout his career. In 1989, he was selected by a committee composed of Superior Court Judges to serve as counsel to the Hartford Judicial District Grievance Panel for Geographical Area 13 and the town of Hartford.  He has successively been appointed to this position each year since 1989.  In this capacity, he serves as the counsel to  the  grievance panel which investigates allegations of misconduct against practicing attorneys. Attorney Quinn also served as a commissioner  on the Judicial Selection Commission for a three year term.  He was one of twelve commissioners who interviewed candidates for the judiciary and also interviewed judges  seeking reappointment. He has  provided legal services to the disadvantaged and to indigent persons through his services with the Pro-Bono Referral Project and as a Criminal Justice Act Panel Attorney in the United States District Court.  In his personal time, Attorney Quinn is involved as a coach in youth sports including baseball and basketball. 

Attorney Quinn graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in 1973, In Cursu Honoris,  and he completed his legal studies at  the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1976.  He is a member of the Hartford County Bar Association, the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association and the Connecticut Bar Association.
