Man under age 50 awarded disability without hearing

The claimant suffered from degenerative disc disease and degenerative joint disease.  After two denials our office submitted additional medical records along with a brief requesting an on the record decision.  The ALJ was persuaded of the claimant's disability and used his discretion to consider the claimant age 50 disabled as of his onset date.  The claimant was awarded $41,000 in back benefits.
